Artist statement

We all perceive the world uniquely—colours, words, and experiences are understood through filters shaped by our individual senses, histories, and beliefs. Yet, we often forget that our perception is imperfect. Our brains fill in gaps, and our memories are unreliable. The collective human experience, made up of countless perspectives, shapes reality itself—but we only exist as fragments within it. Despite this, we are inherently vain. We assume our understanding of the world is absolute, that our perceptions are the truth, and that we occupy a central role in the grand scheme of things. In questioning these assumptions, I create fragments of vanity, pieces that challenge the idea of an objective, singular reality, reflecting the limits and illusions of our personal truths and aesthetics.
